Become Your Own Boss FOREVER! (The Complete Guide For Solo Lawn Care Success)

In a nutshell, if you like being outdoors, working with your hands, making tons of money on your own schedule, and being your own boss- then I can comfortably say that this course would a  nice addition to your life 😎 

More specifically:

My favorite question 🙂 It is a broad answer- because it depends on how many customers YOU can comfortably manage. You may want to work MORE or LESS than me- but let me give you my personal schedule. My current sweet-spot is around $5,000~/month and it looks roughly like this:

• 40-50~ TOTAL recurring customers as a solo operator. (You can your first 1-2 seasons in business- it is not difficult with multiple efficient advertising methods)
• I choose to only work 2-3 days per week on average (in the past I've worked up to 5x/week, but 3-4x is my sweet spot when running full capacity, but I lowered volume so I can spend more time here & my income reflects that. On average, I mow around 10 yards per day, and each work day takes around 5~ hours (start at 8am, be done at 1-2pm.)
• For a 10 yard work day, I generate on average $500~ from my average priced biweekly yard being around $50~/visit. Some days I make more more, some days I make less (depending if customers switch on me or if I do fertilizer/shrub trims that day etc.- but it always averages out as I have acquired enough customers to consistently generate $500/day every time I ship out for work.

Good question! The core principles will always stand the same regardless of what area you are in. The price of your average yard vs. my average yard may be higher or lower than the prices you see in my videos- so do not assume that I have the highest lawn prices in America! 😂 I always reiterate this simple fact: I got to where I am by NOT caring about the average market price of my area. There are people mowing the same size yards as I am in the same neighborhoods- but for a fraction of the price I am doing. I created my own lane for quality & reliable work- and I will be teaching you how to do the same. The ONLY difference in our areas might come from registering your business- but across the board you generally will follow the same steps that I did. Unless you live in California/Florida/Hawaii where grass is growing all year round- most people will experience a month or so of downtime in the Winter. If you have snow- you actually have MORE income possibilities than someone like me does here In Texas!

I operated my lawn care business as a side-hustle to my part time job for the first 2 years! You absolutely can keep this work as additional income to your current job. I would work as a server all throughout the week- and I would then only mow on the weekends! The only difference between doing this part-time vs full-time is the amount of customers you take on. Want to only make extra money on the weekends after your full-time job? Then simply take on only 5-10 customers, stop taking on further customers, and begin maintaining those homes and start making an additional $500~ each weekend of the month! You can stay there and simply not take on any new work- and if you ever decide to go full-time after all, it's as simple as taking on the new callers coming your way as will always see you & your truck mowing!

We will go over trailers & zero turns in the course for if you have the larger properties! Other than equipment differences (a bigger mower & a way to haul it around)- all other core principles of advertising, quoting, & legalizing will stand the same. Zach used to use a trailer & bigger equipment (with workers in the past as well) when he was doing 1/2 acre~ properties. He downgraded to smaller properties because he found better margins doing so (in his city), but understandably some people live in cities with only large properties. Either way, money is money & mowing is mowing and we will create your system 💰

As far as helpers, Zach has worked solo- then with 1 helper- 2 helpers, and up to 3 workers at one time! As mentioned, he downgraded back to solo since the smaller yards easily allowed for it, and was ultimately much less headache (unless you have the perfect workers with you- which can be difficult to find.) Adding workers is NOT necessary with smaller yards- but it may be for those larger properties/overgrown cleanups. Either way you go about it, Zach has tons of information & insights to share with you on these 2 topics even though he is happily solo 💪

Don't even worry about them- there are more than enough houses to go around. Most small business do not last because of poor quality & inconsistency. You would be surprised how many of my current customers called me because their current lawn care guy was doing a crappy job!

(Now I do not have kids... yet) But let me pick your brain to answer this topic!

I receive this question much more than I would have ever expected- and I always give the same answer. I literally CANNOT think of a reason why someone with a family could not do this. 1)- if you ever see someone with a lawn care truck in your area... I'm willing to bet you $$$ that they are NOT a 27 year old YouTuber with no children (like myself) driving the work truck. They are 99.9% always a FATHER with a wife & kids at home that is driving the truck (take a look for yourself and tell me what you see next time you're driving around and spot a lawn care truck.) Isn't the goal when having a family to be able to SPEND MORE TIME with your family? So why would being your own boss (where you PICK the days & times you work), while making MORE MONEY than a majority of 9-5 jobs (find me a job that can pay you $100/hour today like lawn care can)- not be able to work for a family-man? So short answer: OF COURSE a father/set of parents can make this work. In fact, I myself could not envision raising my future Make Money Mowing Jr's ANY OTHER WAY than from being my own boss.
