I went to college and got a bachelors degree in Communications- but like many others I had no desire/direction/any idea on what I wanted to do after school. It wasn't until applying for jobs in the "real-world" right after graduating that I soon realized:

  • I did not want to spend all day inside 4 walls under artificial lighting, or staring at a computer screen all day. I wanted to be mobile and have the ability to explore the outdoors of my city each & every day!
  • I did not want to be surrounded by "default" co-workers where I had no say on who I was going to be working with/next to- I wanted to pick WHO I worked with at all times.
  • And no matter how much I would be getting paid- it would never be worth losing the freedom to do what I wantedwhen I wanted- just like you would usually give up when working for another person/company

    • I thought, why not just post an ad for some basic lawn care work in the meantime for some quick money while I figure all this out. From that single ad- it brought me & my new lawn care business to the Make Money Mowing channel you see today 😎

It's just a simple, genuine business that requires hard work just as anything else worth having would.

The money will be there for anything you do as long as you can get good enough to charge properly for it. If you enjoy being outside, working with your hands, and doing awesome jobs while getting paid what you quote- then mowing is perfect. Move into landscaping, add a helper- you can structure it exactly as you'd like. Build your own solo $500 workdays first- and scale it up from there! 👍

More reasons why I love the lawn care business model:

  • You do not need a brick & mortar storefront- you can operate out of your home with only a vehicle and your lawn equipment! You are extremely mobile & light on your feet.

  • You do not have to deal with people on a daily basis! (The only time you will really talk is when landing a new customer or doing a new quote- after that they are locked on the schedule.) Around 99% of my customers pay online, so I simply slice through all of my routes each day without having to stop or talk to anyone. If you choose to have a helper- then that will be the only person you talk to! I like keeping to myself, and I like working at my own pace so I choose to mainly work solo.

  • When running full capacity, I have 60-70~ paying customers that all have a small, equal stake in my income- vs one hourly/salary job. If a customer lets me go- I have 59-69~ other customers still paying me + 1,000's of surrounding houses we can replace that customer with!

    • Is it perfect? No- as is nothing. There will always be a pro & con to what we pick. But- lawn care in itself has shown me that I am fully capable of providing for myself & those around. And as long as you can get fired up to rev your tools in the morning before a workday- then the customers & lifestyle awaits you 🙂
